‘Swayam’ is a coalition of volunteers and voluntary organizations working in the area of disaster preparedness and response in the Indian Himalayan region. Apart from being a coalition based on the collective strength of volunteers, ‘Swayam’ also acts as a platform for capacity building and resource sharing which enables individuals to participate more effectively in the processes leading to disaster resilience.
